02The route

Chitkul is the final inhabited village of the Baspa valley, at roughly 3,450 metres.

Walking there rather than driving is the difference between seeing it and arriving in it.

How we run it

  • 01

    Small groups

Six to ten people. We don't overcrowd the valley.

  • 02

    Local people

Guides, porters, cooks and partners come from the region.

  • 03

    Leave no trace

What comes with us goes back with us.

  • 04

    Sacred land

We respect grazing grounds, forests and sacred spaces.

  • 05

    Season matters

We don't force the mountain to operate on our calendar.
